David Rolleston, Director and Adviser:
At the age of 17, David entered the corporate world with NatWest Bank after giving up his lucrative part-time roles as paperboy, pot washer and milk delivery assistant! He spent 16 years with NatWest covering a wide variety of roles, including advising and arranging mortgages and insurance.
In 2003 he took the next step and left the bank to set up his own mortgage advisory business, D.R.Mortgage Solutions where he met George. They eventually joined forces in 2008, obtaining premises in Chancellor Street, Glasgow.
David has now passed the 20-year mark of advising on mortgages and insurance for clients and has a wealth of experience of what can and can’t be achieved from a mortgage perspective, and there are not many scenarios that he hasn’t been faced with.
Away from the business, he can occasionally be found bagging Munro’s and creating divots at Hamilton Golf Club as well as walking Ollie, his black Lab, around Chatelherault Country Park. And of course his wife, Cath and two daughters Madeline and Martha keep him on his toes!
George Williamson, Director and Adviser
As a youngster, George was a Cub, a Scout, a Venture Scout and then became a Scout Leader for many years, and proudly boasts of having totalled more than a year sleeping ‘under canvas’ during this time.
Starting as a Junior with RBS in Edinburgh way back in 1985, George was taught by his first Manager the practice of effective working; to follow the Five D’s – Do It, Diary It, Dump It, Delegate It, and just Don’t Dither!
After gaining much experience working in banking, George moved west to Glasgow to get married and then set up Mortgage Advice Brokerage in 2001. He has arranged thousands of mortgages and insurance policies for his clients in this time – this experience and the use of modern technology is what keeps his customers returning.
George is married to Catriona and has two daughters, a cat, dogs and ponies – so most home time is spent being a ‘Dad Taxi Driver’ and enjoying family life.
Carol-Anne Wallace, Mortgage and Insurance Adviser
With over 19 years’ experience within the banking and insurance industry Carol-Anne has a wealth of experience when it comes to looking after your mortgage and protection needs.
Her focus on ensuring that your homebuying experience is simple, smooth and overall a happy experience, means that you can focus on the nice parts of buying your dream home, whilst she finds you the best deal, suited to your needs and circumstances.
Evan Grosshans, Mortgage and Insurance Adviser
Evan moved to Glasgow from Kansas, USA for postgraduate study when he was 25, and by the time he finished his Masters degree he had met his wife and decided to stay! He had been working as an estate agent for seven years before deciding what he really wanted to do was help people find a way to get the home they’d always wanted.
He studied in his spare time to re-qualify as a mortgage and insurance broker, and now he loves helping people find a way to finance their new home even when others have told them it won’t work. With his background in estate agency, he also does everything he can to make sure his clients are getting the home they want at a fair price.
When he’s not at work, Evan loves playing board games with his daughter Abigail and building Lego with his son Jacob. He and his wife Pauline prefer to just hang out—unless they get the rare chance of a date night.
Dave Maclennan, Mortgage and Insurance Adviser
With a background in Surveying in the Oil and Gas Industry, Dave took an altogether different path into the world of mortgage and insurance advice. Initially, he was an important client of Mortgage Advice Brokerage as he used our services many times to help build a successful buy-to-let property portfolio in Glasgow during his 20s and 30s. A strong bond was formed with the company as Dave frequently referred to George and David for strategic advice during this process.
Dave found that his experience in property and finance matters was increasingly leading to him being asked by friends and colleagues to help on various property scenarios. He found himself enjoying the role so much that he decided on a complete career change. He then juggled his work offshore with completing his professional qualifications and spending his spare time training at Mortgage Advice Brokerage.
It was during this time that Dave recognised the issues that Offshore workers and Contractors in particular, have in obtaining mortgages. Making it his mission to simplify the process, Dave has focussed his efforts on meeting with representatives of lenders across the industry to enable him to source a mortgage for each and every obscure occupation.
Away from work, Dave is married to Joanne and is kept on his toes by his young children, Eilidh & Lewis. When he gets a spare hour, he enjoys participating in cycling, golf and snowboarding as well as being regularly disappointed by following the Scotland National Football team.
Richard Pomerantz, Mortgage and Insurance Adviser
After a successful career in menswear, Richard decided on a complete change of course, and joined the Insurance Industry. He soon realised that it was much more fun helping people to buy properties, and moved into the mortgage market.
Now, some 25 years later, he still gets that happy feeling when clients call to say they have a moving date, many of them being the now grown up children of his original clients making their first move into home ownership.
Following on from 6 years living in rural, middle-of-nowhere France he moved to Dunoon in 2015, still commuting “down south” regularly to see and look after clients, most of whom have been with him for many years.
He specialises in both residential and buy to let mortgages, along with the necessary insurance products to provide clients with a complete service. His motto is “you find the house, I’ll get you in there”.
Away from mortgages, Richard is involved with a local animal rescue, and can usually be found wandering around the glens of Dunoon in the early mornings with his wife Eve, and their three Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
Elaine Mulroy, Administration Manager
Elaine joined the Mortgage Advice Brokerage team in the summer of 2015 and has been a valuable addition to the team. She is in charge of processing mortgage applications and liaising with lenders for the timely turnaround of applications that have been submitted. The chances are it will be Elaine you’ll speak to when you make a call into the office. Away from work, she is kept active chasing after Scruff, her Patterdale Terrier.
